Das Statement der Band:

"Hi,

After four years of music, many tours and two albums, we have some sad news to share:
Following a difficult period and with careful consideration, Victoria has decided to leave the band.
Despite efforts and adjustments on both sides, conflicts and disagreements persisted, which didn't allow her to find the well-being and serenity she needed to continue. We were unable to work it out.

As for the remaining band members, we have decided not to go forward without Victoria and have put the project on hold until further notice.

Cancelling upcoming shows seems like the most difficult yet most honest decision to take.

We would be grateful if you could give us the space and time we need to come to terms with this situation.
We thank you for believing in us and we've enjoyed every minute spent with the audience, partners, labels and bookers.

Despite this, we have decided to proceed with the release of "Pelle d'Oca" next month. We will leave you with our album and hope you will enjoy it.

Die Musik von Ada Oda erinnert an die  Kühnheit des Post-Punk der 1980er Jahre und den melodischen Charme des italienischen Pop. Das Projekt wurde 2020 von César Laloux (The Tellers, BRNS) ins Leben gerufen, der Victoria Barracato auf Tinder kennenlernte. Als er die italienische Herkunft ihres Namens bemerkte, schlug er Victoria vor, seine Lieder auf Italienisch zu singen. Diese Herausforderung nahm sie an.
Un Amore Debole, das erste Album der Band (Nov. 2022, 62TV/PIAS), versammelt zehn Popsongs, die aus bewusst spärlichen Demos (Drum Machine, Gitarre und Melodie) entstanden sind. Auf diesem Album beschreibt César, manchmal mit einem Hauch von Ironie, seine Vision von der Liebe und den Menschen um ihn herum. Seine Texte werden zunächst ins Italienische übersetzt und dann von Victoria angepasst. Besonders in Italien werden Titel wie ‚Un Amore Debole‘ oder ‚Niente da Offrire‘ zu kleinen Hits.

Auf der Bühne wird das Duo von Clément Marion am Bass (David Numwami, Judith Kiddo), Alex De Bueger (Gros Coeur) und Aurélien Gainetdinoff (Yolande Bashing) an der Gitarre begleitet. Die Band hat über 200 Konzerte in rund zwanzig Ländern gegeben und ist bekannt für ihre herausragenden Live-Auftritte. Das haben sie bereits auf großen europäischen Festivals wie Rock en Seine, Best Kept Secret, Pukkelpop, MI AMI, ESNS bewiesen und sogar auf dem renommierten SXSW in Austin im Jahr 2024, wo sie zum ersten Mal außerhalb Europas auftraten.

Am 21. Februar soll nun das zweite Album erscheinen. Die erste Single ‚Sotto La Conchiglia‘ fühlt sich schon nach Sommer in Italien an. Entsprechend freuen wir uns sehr, dass Ada Oda am 24. April ins schöne Nachtasyl kommen. Arrividerci!
